It was chosen by Lisa from Surviving Oz - the recipe is here on her blog, along with a fun photo play-by-play. I did like how she put a whole pecan on top of each square - great idea!
These were chewy on the edges (I really need that brownie pan now) and chocolatey and nutty and I'm afraid I've already polished off more than my fair share. Aaron is at school and I'm feeling a smidge guilty that two corners are gone. Only a smidge though - these are worth it!
So pictured below are some of the brownies - between Will and I, they'll be gone in about 30 minutes, along with a gallon of milk. And they are sitting atop my new picnic blanket that I finished last week - another post will show all my sewing accomplishments so far - and new projects planned.
Katherine Hepburn's brownies were legendary, and these have become my new favorites. Now, I just need that brownie pan . . .

Yum! Those look delicious! Makes me want to make some! I'm glad you joined TWD. Several food blogs I read do it and it's fun to see different takes on the same recipe.
OH...are you still doing Sunday cookies?? I was going to try to do it with you, but haven't been able to yet...
Jen - yes, I'm still doing Sunday Cookies - I'll post the link!
Thanks for sharing this recipe Jennie! I baked them on Saturday night and they are so yummy. Very dense and rich. I think I'll leave out the cinnamon next time as it wasn't my favorite, but otherwise delicious! :)
Keri - I left out the cinnamon too!

Really, don't we all love a little validation?
